    Is AKO still giving away free antivirus software? Anybody use it?

    I used Symantec and Norton, didn't really see a difference.

    Yup and the virus updates. Symantec was extremely bloated last time I researched it, not sure about now though.

    Yeah, Symantec used to be bad like that.

    As for the definitions, do you have to download them from AKO or will the program update automatically?


    I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security, but it interferes with a utility that I use quite frequently. Since I can't replace the utility, I'm replacing my anti virus.

    Auto updates. Word on the street is that Avira makes the most effective virus software out there. And you can get a year for free at their website. When I wipe my computer clean I will test it out, I have McAfee now.

    you guys know that the DOD has free AV available for download right? Google it..you need to be on a .mil domain to download. I'm using Symantec Endpoint right now, it comes with a robust firewall and works well for me..
