It seems to me AK74 could support 22lr conversion without swapping out the barrel. Anyone heard of one? I did a search for one but did not come up with anything.

Without swapping the barrel? Outlook not so good.

5.45x39 bullets have a .215 caliber bullet. I'm not sure if that is too small to fire .22LR through. But as far as I know there aren't any reliable .22LR conversions for any AK rifles.

why buy a $100 conversion when for $200 you can get one of those dedicated .22 trainers.

So far, drag stocks are the only ones I've seen when it comes to .22 trainers. Do they have regular AK stock ones in 22?

You can swap them out easily. just need a regular stock, a pistol grip and a flathead screwdriver.
