AK47 Stock Refinish Project..Completed With Pics

You might remember my thread where I nearly broke my wrist trying to get the buttstock off my WASR, well a vice grip and rubber mallet later I finally got the fucker off.

Took some 100 grit sandpaper to the stock to strip the horrid finish. Followed up by 150 grit then 220 grit and finally with 000 steel wool. On my 2nd coat of stain now. Decided to go with Minwax Sedona Red. Gonna finish it off with some Linseed Oil as I really don't want a fucking varnish

    2nd coat....should I go darker?

    Shitty finish job before.

Put some semi-gloss poly urathane and you're good to go. The shit WASR wood can be cleaned up pretty good, nice job. In for pics of it on the rifle.

Gotta let it dry till tommorrow, then put the poly on, then let it dry buff it with 0000 steel wool, repeat 1-2 times more. Gonna be a couple days before it all gets put back together :wtc:
