I have 6 mags for my Saiga 762. I'm looking to get at least 4 more. I've looked at cheaperthandirt and classic arms. Where should I look otherwise? The cheaper I find, the more I can buy.

I got some "gently used" ones with my saiga when I bought it for pretty cheap. Should I not buy used mags?

I have some of those mags from classic arms. They're obviously used, but they work. I'm not sure if the plastic pro-mag or whatever the hell came with the Saiga 7.62 is worth buying more of. I like it, and it works, but I'm not sure how it will hold up.

I doubt there is much you can do to a steel AK mag that will completely impede it from functioning. Buying used wouldn't scare me.

With mags, there really is no reason to buy new unless you just can't find used mags. As long as they feed and the springs are good, nothing else really matters.

Hell, my AK mags (well, not my -74 mag) are all pretty beat up, mostly just from use.

They don't have them for this price anymore, unless I'm missing something. Maybe I'm just not seeing where that deal is.

I have bought many used AR magazines, I just throw a new Magpul follower in there and if the spring were really bad I'll replace it. I've yet to find one with a spring that was bad enough to replace, the anti-tilt followers usually solve any feed issues.

44mag.com has brand new hungarian mag bodies for $4.99, if you buy the plates, followers, spring somewhere else you could have new mags for about $11 each.

One of the single stack 10-rd mags that came with my WASR was bad - it didnt have enough spring strength to load the last round. Since I converted it to double stack, I haven't found any bad magazines.
