Do I need to oil the inside of gas tube after shooting like I do barrel?
if your not shooting corrosive ammo no reason to even remove it
people clean AKs?
I have to, because I shoot corrosive.
Then just clean it up with some solvent, no need to put oil in there.
Ya, I just dip it in hot water to get the salt out and assemble it back.
No need to oil the barrel, it's chrome lined and a bore snake is sufficient.. I only put oil on the muzzle threads and a little on the FCG and rails.
Haven't cleaned mine since I bought it. Haven't had a problem yet.
I shoot corrosive. I bore snake the barrel first with solvent then with oil, then I push a rag through the gas tube with solvent, then spray some oil into it and reassemble. I need to get some of those little gas block brushes though, I've never cleaned mine.
just follow his direction:
Do you use hot water as a "pretreatment"? If you do, do you oil the outside of AK where it was rinsed with water? I know water can't dissolve oil but it the metal on my AK feels so bare after I rinse it thru water, so I oil the whole damn thing.
Tell me I'm in paranoid and I can cut out some of these measures.
"Today I'm here to show you how to break down the AK47, Most niggas talk about takin it to the shop" I wonder where that monday got his grubby mits on such a nice folder, stolen no doubt.
No I personally don't use water mainly out of laziness. The water is there to dissolve the salts from the corrosive ammo, but IMO Hoppe's 9 solvent works just as fine.
Guy can't even reassemble the damn thing.
