I bought that Saiga deal a few weeks ago. That's a damn nice AK and I love shooting it.

Real men convert their Saigas themselves. :mamoru:

Just kidding. It is an interesting experience though. You learn a lot about how the rifle works.

considering .223 is more expensive than x39, I'd say it's not cheaper to shoot.

Saiga should have a nicer fit and finish, not sure who did the conversions on them and how nicely the patched them up though.

The reason why most people buy Saiga's are b/c they are as close to a true Russian AK as you can get. The WASR's are made in Romania and are very hit or miss on the quality. Whereas the Saiga's are made at the Izmash factory in Russia and have much better fit and form.

no on both accounts. you're shooting more expensive ammo (compared to 7.62x39) out of a less accurate platform (compared to ARs).

converted saiga crew ftw. mine has dimples too.

i'm in the process of having the trigger guard and holes welded up. i have yet to decide what i'm using to refinish it. probably gonna be molyresin, duracoat, or some duplicolor engine enamel.

Fuck AIM, go with Henderson Defense, you are guaranteed a decent quality rifle with them, since they inspect and only sell ones with straight sights and shit.

I was planning on ordering a WASR from Henderson Defense until I bought the Saiga from Classic Arms.

I got my single stack WASR from HDI, and then paid them to widen my magwell (I am local to them). I have no mag wobble, and everything is straight on the rifle. After I refinished my wood, it has my brother wishing he had almost gotten one of them over his Saiga.

Truth. They are starting to build thier own ARs for an amazing price as well. They posted what the specs are on AR15.com, and got what seemed to be a great reception. I know they rejected a whole batch of lowers because the tolerances werent quite right. :o

Get it out of your fucking truck. I take at least 1 report a week of people having guns stolen out of vehicles.

I couldn't very well bring it into my office. The only time I could pick it up is on my lunch break. Not after work, not any other day, including weekends.
