Looking to learn about AK47 or similarly styled semi-automatic rifles. Looking to pay anywhere from 400-600 dollars. Educate me? Thanks!

Yes I will get an Avatar, haha.

well, you can either pay less than that and get a Romanian WASR which might need some work done to it. Or you can pay more and get a nice Arsenal or smith built AK.

I can see paying a little more for a better quality AK. I'll look into those, thanks.

I bought an Arsenal with a milled receiver for $550 back when you could still get them.

another option is to get a receiver, parts kit, and 922r parts and either build the rifle yourself or get a smith to build it. I got mine built by http://globalmilitarygunsmithing.com/ and I love it. (Mine is a Romanian G parts kit on a DCI NDS-3 receiver)

those assholes on there will rape your wallet and not even spit. do not buy a rifle from gunbroker without consulting someone on prices first.

I've gotten great prices on two shotguns and a handgun from them. It really depends on which shop you buy from. They should give you a list of the 3 closest to your zip code and each will show their prices. I've had no problems with them at all the past three times and would definitly buy again through them.

gunbroker isnt a "shop" its an auction site, which generally has very overpriced stuff especially with regards to AK stuff.

If you're not a member, sign up for AR15.com

They have a great equipment exchange and there's usually someone giving a good price on a slightly used AK. You just have to check frequently.
