CTD is selling 75 round AK drums (mags?) for $50. Anyone have any experience with these? Are they usually garbage? Worth $50?

Yeah. its a 75 round magazine. Thing is hella long. Kinda reminds me of the 100 round mags that they made prototypes of where it curved around to the brake and was attached for support there.

Looks like maybe a 30 rounder welded onto a 40 rounder or something with the weld in the mag

ah damn. that'd be huge then. I guess I'd rather have a drum. The 30 rounder is just the right length - I'm sure the 40 would be ok too - but there's no way a 75 would look ok on my pistol.

Any pics? Most of the sites I searched are blocked.

if you get a drum, get a chinese drum. loading from the back ftw. only thing that sucks is that a fully loaded drum is heavy

i ordered a 75 round drum from CTD a lil over a month ago. The only description was it was a chinese drum and there were limited quantities. I paid a pretty penny (200 dollars) but i was pleased to open the package and find a brand new Norinco drum still in the cosmoline and plastic wrap with all the tags and markings. Its dead mint. So im gonna say i was prolly lucky to get a brand new drum?\

fwiw i loaded her up not long ago and hand cycled some rounds just to check function and it runs like a champ. Just make sure ya wind it the right amount of times. :)

id like to know where youre finding chinese 75 round drums for 100-120:squint:

i looked for about 3 hours online and found no sites offering them for less than 180 or so and even those places were sold out.
The ones i found for 150 or so were yugo drums.

there is usually a dealer at the gun show I usually go to (Northern VA), it's an ammo dealer, not a gun dealer....they usually have 75 rd drums, ~80 bucks. I bought one with my ak from my dealer and it was ~95 bucks. I need to pick some more up next time the show is in town. It was just here not long before thanksgiving, but I had other things to take care of :wtc:

Dont think you'll find any in the $100-120 range anymore, $125-150 seems to be a common price over on arfcom, I paid $75 for mine when i gottem a few years ago :fawk:

I got mine for $110 about a year and a half ago (75 rd. Chinese) and I remember that even then it was a steal.
I remember a few months before that, some guy was selling 12 Chinese 75rd drums for $58 each, but you had to buy all of them. They were gone within a few hours of posting.

Shop around on some of the gun forums, I would not pay $120 for a romy they're a pain in the ass to load, but if you insist should find someone selling theres for around $100. BTW the $129 says Romanian in description.
