Being airborne right now is kinda pointless and is a distraction from training soldiers really need with their units. But none the less, it's tradition and a great time.

I haven't jumped out of a plane since 2000 when I went to airborne school. Don't think I'm missing out on anything though.

hotter than 2 dogs fuckin in a plastic bag to be exact. iraq was cooler... at least not as humid. its the humidity here that kills.

(And Airborne, you WILL double time everywhere you go. Clear?)

My lieutenant will be at ranger school at the end of the month. Don't envy him one bit.

I agree. It is kinda pointless now given the direction of modern warfare, but there is still the prestige of the tradition...It is still a necessary animal however in smaller, more surgical "SF" type units.
