Well as part of a reenlistment incentive I'm gonna try and get an airborne school seat. Being a marine, of course I dont know about the army too much. So what are the physical requirements in airborne school? I know you take a pft or something when you get there, so what are the army requirements/minimums and what not? Heard the school is only 2 weeks long about. Anybody know what type of uniforms I would be needing to bring? i.e. check in with my alpha's or some shit? Any help with information to prepare myself or the likes would be apprietiated. Oh, and as a marine, would the army staff force me to say "hoooah" and that crazy army slang? hah

What company are you in? I was in Delta.

I had a good time drinking at the enlisted club when I was there. Its a 500 foot walk from the barracks.

cause we never do pushups in the marines. well most of us anyways. i need to start doing them, along with "sit-ups" instead of the marine corps crunch

Depends on where you're going and the needs of your unit.

Guy from my old unit re-enlisted wanted to do this as a incenitive, He got dropped because he couldnt pass the army's initial PFT. He failed the pushups. WTF This just proves my point that most units in the Marine Corp concentrates to much on running, but never work on any kinda wieght lifting, strength training etc.

Quite difficult...however...if you're going to be FA for SEATAF maybe your chances are better.

The whole mil concentrates way too much on running......I find it amazing how the prt tests indicate that they would prefer to have a 150lb (scrawny + no muscle) male who can run a 9 min mile and a half over a 200lb male (low bf% + strong) who runs a 12:30 mile and a half.....

Pushups and situps are not good strength indicators either....pullups are a better, but still not even perfect method, but those are optional here in the af.....

Airborne School is scary. Make sure you close your eyes and don't count when you jump out the door. It's more fun that way to guess how long has elapsed before your chute opens up.

Enlisted who are not Airborne qualified go after SFAS. Not exactly sure for the O's.
