looks like a big butt
It better at least smell nice
maybe if you hit something, the airbag will help counteract your forward motion, thus not allowing you to fly that far, or not very much at all, depending on your speed of course. maybe...
That's exactly what it does. I saw a show about safety features on cars one time, and they brought up the motorcycle airbag, complete with video. Exact same bike hitting exact same car, one bike with airbag, one without. Rider on bike without airbag went over the handlebars, hit the side of the car, and went up over the roof to the ground. Ride with airbag hit the car, airbag popped and stopped the riders forward motion, making him just kind of go straight up and drop back onto the bike. Sounded funny to me, too, until I saw the video. Looks like a very good idea.
gee, what happens when the airbag deploys, but the rider should get off the bike ASAP?
Sure hope your medical is paid up, cause the last thing you want to do in some wrecks is stay with the bike.
The whole idea of an airbag on a motorcycle is just strange. However, I'm sure in an event of a head on accident it would decrease the risk of serious injury. I'm sure Honda put a lot of R&D in to such a project.
I don't know that I would want it going off in my face though.
It doesnt look big enough to really inhibit getting off the bike. Just big enough to keep the rider from going over the bars after hitting a car.
Hopefully it works as advertised.
It's probably like a cars air bags, where it goes off, then deflates right after that. I'm sure they have it set up where it only goes off in a frontal collision, when it would be most effective.
i guess honda has spent the last 15 year developing this for their goldwing.
Honda take pride in their products and wouldn't put something out there that would not be top quality IMO
this futher prooves my point that a goldwing is nothing more than a car thats missing two wheels.
Its still a hell of a nice bike for what its meant for!
