So I am looking to join the Air Force, not as a lifetime career though, and am looking into the different jobs available. I am trying to find something that will help later in life when I finally leave the air force, assuming I'm not killed.
I have been considering something in the medical field, and am curious if any of you have had experience in this field. Also, for the ASVAB test do any of you have recommended study guides? I picked up "ASVAB for Dummies" and another guide, but was curious if any of you have a particular recommendation that you found helpful. I am basically aiming to get a minimum score of 95 so I can have as many jobs available to me as possible.
    Thanks.

asvab tests at military.com is what i used to study. 99 is the highest you can score, so shooting for a 95 is shooting high, but definitely not unrealistic. all the branches except the marines have a good medical field to offer. (marines don't have one at all)

The highest score you need for any job in the air force that I've seen is like a 88, most require about a 65 or so, so I wouldn't be too worried about it. And the asvab isn't very hard, it's like a dumbed down version of the sat. There's math, problem solving, figuring out patterns, stuff like that. But there's lots of study guides and stuff, just google it.

Don't worry about the ASVAB. I had the same book you bought, and it was almost a carbon copy of the test. Just read it about two days before the test and you'll do fine. Just basic high school stuffs.

Met a nurse today. He liked his job. Most people in medical enjoy their jobs from what I can tell. I like my job but it isn't for most. (Crew Chief)

Nurse from what branch? I think I'm going to like the Medical Field, but I'm not to sure if I want to get into it in the civilian world.

a buddy of mine was an X ray tech. he could have stayed out and made some decent money but he went back in to fly aeroplanes. A good job to try for would be comm. Especially if you can get on the network side of things. You can make some pretty serious money when you get out if you have network experience.

Cool, I'll check it out. Anyone know how many pushups I need for Air Force Basic training? I'm doing the 100 push ups training, but I'd like to know.

Yep I know that, my mom's a nurse.... Shes actually thinking about going in the Air Force Reserve also (but idk about age restrictions?) I'm going in the Navy as a Corpsman that's why I was curious if they enjoyed the Med field.
