Your unit should issue your TA-50 upon receiving a slot.

where are you going to air assault school?

at ft. campbell, they nixed all my friends for the slightest packing list infraction like a tiny hole in a pt cap. having light brown glove inserts instead of acu green inserts. gayness.

AA school is pretty strict on the packing list. It's one way they eliminate people to get the class down to the allowable roster size. They always over reigster the class expecting the typical dropouts during zero day, and for various other reasons.

Just some words of advice before you show up for the "10 hardest days in the Army". Make sure you follow the packing list to the tiniest detail, and also make sure you can climb a rope and pass that obstacle course. Other then that its not too bad.

The first time I went through I made it through zero day, but ended up getting dropped after I failed the sling loading test twice. I couldnt identify all the fucking deficiencies or whatever the fuck it was. :(

Be able to climb a rope, that is what gets a lot of people. It's more technique than strength though. During slingload repeat to yourself over and over "touch what you see, see what you touch".

I don't understand why people fail for the sling load portion of those schools. I wish they'd give the Marine Corps more quotas for them, we don't get enough cool training like that. We trained some Army guys on HSTs (what we call sling loads) for a while on a deployment once and they were :noes: the entire time. :hs: They're pretty simple as long as you can think creatively when you're lifting shit that wasn't nessicarily designed to be lifted externally.

Just remember to never walk out of the LZ backwards after a lift, never chase the hook, and watch out for tires/skids.

The A22 cargo bag got me. I had never been so pissed at myself after that.
