If anyone is interested in playing, my friends and I are playing the Chinese release... I like to think of it as beta that's not really beta. :hs:

If anyone else is interested in playing, send me a PM and I'll get you hooked up with info on how to get started and get the game patched into English.

The first 5 hours of gameplay are free - and, shit, you don't even need an email address to sign up for an account. :eek5:

(Edit: fileplanet has removed the download...)

You can either search google for a client download, or you can go here (I think): http://aion.sdo.com/project/index/index.htm

Or, I've been told that you can also get it here: http://bt.mmosite.com/stats.php?bid=29

Lots of Chinese people, some of them speak English, some don't... but there's a decent number of English speakers on the server where we play too...

(Anybody want to translate? lol... I was just cutting and pasting shit like "Sorry I don't know Chinese" from google translate. :mamoru:

You can easily tell who is Chinese and who isn't by the names... If there are no Chinese characters, the person is probably from North America or Europe. :hs:

...and, of course, you can use emotes and whatnot if you really need to convey something to a non-English speaker.

I haven't really found it to be an issue. :hs:

    ......................

Oh... and once you've patched, the whole game will be in English - the interface, quest text, NPCs, everything... The only Chinese you'll see are character names and actual people talking. :)

[Edit: combining 2 of my posts so I can hijack that 2nd post spot for game info.]

    Yes, by the hour.

The place we buy our time charges $5.10 for like 63 hours actual play time.

very nice. I really didn't think this game would come out till about a year from now. I have a few friends that have been waiting for this game to come out since we've quit WoW.

wow by the hour! I haven't heard of any game that charges it by the hour. Do you actually have to go to a store or you just buy it online?

I'm sure the North American version will be monthly... I guess hourly is common in Asia.

You don't have to buy the game itself to play in China. (You will when it comes ont in North America if you intend to play on US servers.)

It's due out Q4 of this year... soooo, September at the very earliest.

Like I said, playing it in China is kinda like the feeling you get playing a beta.. ya know? Like, you know you're going to start over when the game gets released, but damn it's refreshing to play something new. :hs:

I'm going to assume it's better than the f2p. I'm hoping that's the case at least, which is why I'm going to try it out =)
