alright so the comp i have now has an agp slot, no pci-e. im hearing now that agp slots will not appear in newer computers anymore? Is this true? the reason i ask is because i want to upgrade my graphics card to like a 6800gt but i was also planning on buying a new comp like 6 months from now. but i helped my friends buy a new comp and most i found didnt have agp slots in them. another question, is there any type of converter/adapter u can stick in the pci-e slot to make it act like an agp? (for people who want to use there agp card in a new comp)

AGP is at the end of its product cycle. You will be able to still buy AGP cards, but I doubt the high end cards will use AGP.

    And no, there isn't.

Supposedly the X1800s should still be available on AGP.

and Uli now makes a chipset for Socket939 that has both PCIe and AGP on the same board. Don't know how good it is, but it does exist.

mhm...AGP will soon be equal to what we consider PCI in the video card arena.

    PCI-E is the future! lol
