Well long story short I work for WaMu, we got bought out by Chase and now I have to go from slacks + branded dress shirt to black suit and tie now. I'm looking for a decent slim fitted 2 button suit that won't break me as I have to get 2 immediately. Would love TaT or something similar. but that's a bit too pricey for me at the moment. I was thinking maybe one H&M crap suit and a nicer something else. Looking for recommendations.

I could afford one TaT suit I'm sure, but honestly I'm new to nice clothes and wouldn't know how to measure, order and actually feel confident the suit would fit correctly.

FYI, I'm tall and lanky at 6'2" and 155lbs and I normally wear small shirts and 30x34 pants. I have no idea what my actual jacket size is though... :hsugh:

A stupid question, I'm sure, but what is "TaT"?

You know, if you don't wear suits at all other than for work, you can probably write it off when you do tax.

They want their employees to be prepared at all times for the impending corporate funeral.

H&M, Zara, hell even Jcrew if they're on sale

If you can swing a little more, maybe bluefly.com has some :dunno:

J.Crew makes a great suit. Also Barney's warehouse sail should provide some great suits.

Check out Nordstrom Rack, they've got a good selection of Hugo Boss and Kenneth Cole for around $300 a pop.

Also, I wouldn't wear a black suit to work - navy or gray is more appropriate.

    Black is mandatory :wtc:

Ended up going to Mens Warehouse for their 2 for 1 sale. Ended up with 2 Calvin Klein suits. Was the slimmest fit suit in the store with flat front pants that was on sale. Ended up with one 2 button and one 3 button side vented suits...

how many freakin posts do I have to have to post pics? 100?

Depends on what you mean by cheap. I got 2 suits at express during a sale for like ~200 each I think.

How much was the 2 for 1 sale pricing for those Calvins?

I'm wearing a Calvin Klein shirt right now that I bought for 20 bucks - it's a great looking shirt but I knew the second I touched it that it's not going to last long, but I'll get my money's worth if I wear it enough. Calvin cut back on quality years ago when he went downmarket and now his stuff, while still stylish, is a joke.

Each suit was $400, so 2 for 1 = $200 per suit plus a bit for alterations on top.

And for the price, I would definitely rather have CK over Express...

  20. express is good.

as for the jacket size, if you go to most stores, they will measure you, heck even like k&g will do it. also, try lots of things on.

I don't remember off hand the dude was all measuring me and I was just sitting there looking at the racks of random ugly colored jackets and stuff... I'm going back Wednesday when they get in for final fitting before alterations and stuff, I'll just post final fit pics after everythings done.
