AEM FILTER.....honda civic

    my car has a aem short ram filter...need a new one since teh battery hold and some tubing were touching it and it kinda melted it a bit...is there like a guard i can attach so nothing actually touches the filter

    Install a CAI instead. Short-ram is useless on a small engine.
     
  6. if u get a CAI, than get a bypass valve too, also by AEM

    Or he could put the oem airbox back on and MAYBE lose 3hp.....and really probably pick up more than that in the midrange and in throttle response.

    I dunno man, I put a CAI on one of my college friends' Tiburon and it definitely picked up some torque in the midrange. There was no doubt about it; he "had to" get better tires because it was suddenly a trivial thing to light up the stock ones.

    Of course, the stock intake on his Tibby looked like intestines, so that probably had something to do with it. Without looking at the intake path on this guy's Civic, it's hard to say whether any kind of aftermarket intake is really necessary. On my car, it wasn't, because it already sucks air from under the front lip of the hood.

    get a cai they work well on the lil 1.6l motors and sound cool at wot
