ok nm i figured most of it out.. i know they're sponsored links... but is there any way i can figure out what my bid should be in order to be at the top but not overpay? what if i set my maximum bit to 100$ and i get to the top.. but the person below me bid only $50.. how much am i going to be paying for each click?

Maximum bid is how much you'll pay for each click. $100 is a LOT.

i realize.. im just using that as an example.. my question is...

if i set my bid really fucking high.. like twice the bid of the current highest bidder.. will i be paying my maximum bid for every click, or just a few cents higher then the bidder below me?

I'm not sure. The highest bid wins, so you really only need to win by $.01. That said, you could also look into alternative keywords.

ya it would be great to be just over by $0.01.. but there is no way of finding out how much the top guy paid.. not even an estimate because overture was bought by yahoo...
