So I'm thinking about getting a new laptop. I have a Macbook 13.3 (white). I really love the laptop, however I've been sharing it with my GF, and she has since filled it up with a lot of stuff that I don't particularly want on my laptop. Plus, her way of filing is the messy unorganized way. So, for me it is easier to just give her my old one, and buy myself a new one.

So, I'm looking for a similar sized laptop. I'm looking for some advise on what you guys think is the best deal.

-The discontinued 13" unibody Macbook is in the refurb store at 1049 (cad). (I'd likely spend an extra 100 bucks for a larger hard drive & illuminated keyboard.)
-Or should I go for the 13" Macbook Pro + free IPod touch 1399 (GF is in school)?
-Are there better deals that I am missing?

I have the discontinued 13" MacBook.... if you can, get the Pro model. The display quality of the 13" unibody MacBooks blows, viewing angle sucks hard compared to the nicer Pro displays. Plus battery doesn't last as long (you also can't take the new one out), no SD card reader... If the shitty display doesn't bother you, go for it.

the 13'' MBP + ipod touch for $1400 is a great deal.

the unibody frame is so much better than the old plastic (look at how flexy your white macbook's LCD is). I have the 15'' MBP, which i absolutely love. the new integrated battery is cool too.

i just picked up the new 13' macbook pro, upgraded from my 15 inch older macbook pro. love this thing, battery is insane, it is very fast and versatile for taking it with you.

i would recommend this 1000 times, and for the cost of it, you can't beat it.

and for the record, if you get the student discount its $1099 + $229 for the ipod touch = $1329 (plus whatever sales tax your state has). but you get the $229 rebate on the ipod touch, and if you sell that you are lookin at a brand new macbook pro for < $1000.

Fuck the bitch, let her buy her own shit Sell your old MacBook for ~$600 depending on model and condition, get 13" MBP + iPod Touch. $1329 - $600 - $229(iPod) = ~$500 + tax = Profit.

My ONLY discontent with the MBP13 is the audio in/out built into one port.

there is a big difference in screen real estate between the 15 and 13 (i had the older 15 before i got this 13 mbp, but it is WELL worth it. very portable, light in my backpack, and FUCK the battery is amazing.
