Any advice or good books you can recommend? (I want to learn how to program games)
Thinking in C++ is pretty good. I enjoyed that.
Anything other than a Deital & Deital book
thats what my teacher just gave me
ive always enjoyed O'Riley books.
no offense here, I'm being serious.
C++ for dummies.
They do a great job of explaining the basic concepts and moving into IF, Then and more complex nested if's. Then going into Array's and even higher concepts.
what would be a good book for me to get? ive taken a year of java programming so i know the basics of structured programming, but i dont know c or c++. the deitel book i have is ok, but id like to get something better. any suggestions?
The Complete Reference C++ : Third Edition
Hands down the best C++ reference book I ever saw, the later editions were a bit lacking. You can get it cheap at amazon as well.
Starting Out with C++ Third Edition by Gaddis is pretty good as well.
take a class?
