Looking to set up a computer to monitor and record for a security system. The system is in place and we already have the software, but the old computer died on us (mobo/cpu fried). Looking to spend under $500, and we have the old hard drives saved, about 1tb altogether. The daily files will range between 1-2gb, and it won't be used for anything but monitoring the video cameras.

With my little experience, I would think a prebuilt system off of newegg would be key. This caught my eye ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113094 ), but I don't know how well the integrated video card will handle the software. Any ideas or advice? It would be much appreciated.

I would want a RAID-6 for such a system, only problem is that the controller card would be your budget.

Other than that, the rest depends on your software and the number/quality of video feeds. What was the system that died on you (ie, CPU and what its normal usage was, etc)?
