Will you dump Bridge and Camera Raw in favor of the new Adobe Lightroom when it's available? Any of you Mac users tried Beta 2 yet?

    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom/

I'm anxious to check out a Windows version.

I've been using it for a couple of months. :dunno:

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I sure can fuck up the colours in my photos now.

I signed up for the Windows version when I first heard about it but I've yet to receive any e-mails.

Too slow on my Powerbook 1.67 with the D200 images.

I'll pick it up if they increase the speed, and support external disks / libraries

i am using it on my intel imac because it runs so much better than photoshop. I really like the way it works and thought it was a great alternative to paying for aperture. the way it archives shoots, and allows you to make quick collections for export makes publishing to both the web and print very easy.

Been using the Beta on my (slow) Mac Mini, with D200 RAW files, and it works very nicely. I'll decide on whether to use it when I get my Macbook Pro later.

using it on my MacBook Pro 2.16 duo's right now, and it seems just a little sluggish, but it IS a beta, and probably has debug check code still in the binaries, and probably not performance enhanced. It's pretty cool for workflow. I haven't used it a whole lot yet, but it seemed pretty simple.

Basically a simplified version of Photoshop. Has some real nice presets and is extremely good for post processing multiple photos. I still feel like I have to bend it to my will in many instances. Hopefully the release version will have more flexibility. As others have said too slow on my mac mini

uhhh, it's not a photoshop replacement. It's meant to be a tool for photographers to perform quick level adjustments, conversions, borders, etc. It's basically a glorified Adobe Bridge.

yeah i dont know why people are comparing it to photoshop. you can do quick adjustments but mainly i use it for keeping things organized and browsing photos.

why would you buy aperature? its been awful and a whole new version will be coming out

lightroom will help the photogs that generally don't have to do heavy post and those that know they're typical adjustments and need fast turnaround, like wedding photogs that show they're images during the reception

aperture has had a rocky start, but aparently, they have made significant improvements in the later revisions, so I hear. But I laugh when you mention BUYING software.

when they hand you a $200 store credit for buying it and fire all the developers, you should know to stay away. when the next version is available, i hope it'll be better. I personally could care less about it, but competition helps everyone in the end
