so i bought a 2gb stick of comstar ram for my mbp (cd) its ddr2 pc2 5300/4200, 200 pin 667/533

when i put it in my mbp the white light on the front turned on, but the screen didnt, so i removed it (i was in a rush)

i tried putting it in the place of the existing 1gb that was there, same thing.

after that, i put the original 1gb back in, and it did the same thing for a few minutes (just the white light) then started up

so my question is, does the computer check the ram first or something? i didnt bother to wait before, and then had no time to put it back in..

if i put that 2gb back in, and wait a bit, will it likely work? or is there a list of compatible ram somewhere?

    thanks all!
