    SEE EDIT IN BOLD BELOW
I have several regular dvds that I would like to add to my itunes library to put on my ipod touch. however whenever I try to do so by selecting the dvd when it is in my computer it will not add them. It doesnt do anything. It will not allow me to drag and drop them either. also can I add blu ray movies to itunes?

EDIT: I did not feel like I should make the another thread so I am changing this one to fit my current question

If I have movies that I have downloaded on my computer, how can I add them to itunes so that I can then transfer them to my ipod? Most of the files seem to be .avi . I had to delete a lot of my movies because of HD space (need to get an extranal HD soon) so I only have about 6 right now to look at for file type.

FYI--not all movies will rip. of my collection (mostly 3-4 years old now) and my roommates, I am only able to rip about 80-90% of them

I'm too lazy to convert 14 seasons of Top Gear for iPod use.
