Okay...I'm trying to add another hard drive to my system. Everything's plugged in correctly, SATA is enabled in the BIOS, Windows sees it in Device Manager and says it's working properly, but I can't remember how to format it and make it usable. (been a while since I've done this). What did I miss? :hs:

You won't see it in My Computer until you create and format at least one partition on the disk. Right click on My Computer & go to Manage. Disk Management is under the Storage section. Right click on the empty space of the new disk and create a partition.

this can also be gotten to from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management. Then clicking on Disk Management.

same thing, different way to get there.

Make sure the old drive is jumpered to master or single and its the only drive on the cable. Does the BIOS see it? Also, make sure the IDE channel its connected to is enabled in the BIOS. If the BIOS won't list it, its not going to work in Windows.
