    Am I right?

Add 4 inches to normal waist/belt size to get the most comfortable fitting "gun belt"?

Going with an Aker B21, but can't find it on Galls website anymore.

    Help? :dunno:

I'd measure an existing belt, 4" is quite a lot

I wear 38" waist (dress belt) now.

I guess i'll have to let the experienced crew help me out.

    Thanks! :)

Pretty sure everywhere I've read has said add 2" for a gun belt. You certainly CAN add more though, if you want to.
But the rule of thumb is 2".

So if you wear a 38 normally, then get a 40 for a holster belt.

Measure it the way www.lightningarms.com says. FWIW I wear 38 pants and went with a 42" Aker. My RafterS was made at 41.5"

I'm a waist 34 and I got a 38 gun belt. Fits pretty well, but I almost wish I had of gone a little bigger since it will allow room to grow. Plus the belt is so stiff that it doesn't stretch out as easily as a normal leather belt.

I have an Aker b21 as well that I purchased from galls.

Here's the link to the b21:

No regrets at all. It's a solid belt that I used for daily wear for about 3 years and it was still going strong. I only replaced it when I went with a RafterS Shark belt. for the price you can't go wrong.

Why would your belt need to get bigger to put nothing in your pants?

I'm a 30 waist, ordered the 34" Aker B21, works perfect. I say go four inches up, but that's what worked for me.

4" works well for me too. I have to say for the cost of the belt I'm extremely impressed. Its really solid. I'm sure a $150+ belt will be nicer but the Aker is great if your on a tight budget or for waiting for a custom belt to come.

go three in case you eat some chili or bbq or something

gunbelts do not stretch like typical belts, so they are not forgiving at all if you overeat while carrying

edit: i sound like a fatass, which is not the case
