more specifically the nikon d70s. Does ANYBODY know of an adapter ring that allows old school 35mm camera lenses (the type that thread on to the body) to be used on new school digital SLRs (merely a 1/4 turn and click into place)? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any AI or AI-S Nikon lens will mount up to the D70 ... the F-mount is physically compatible across all years. The AI and AI-S older manual focus lenses just won't provide regular metering on a D70, so you'll need to manually meter -- ie: use a light meter or histogram.

Are these leica screw mount lenses you're talking about? Because I don't know of any adapter to make them mate to anything :dunno: saw a nice one at a flea market before I knew about them and passed it up just because it was threaded :(
