I was up north this weekend and since it's not my property I check with my friend's dad who owns it if I can bring my rifles up to target shoot and maybe teach some of the girls that were going to be up there to shoot (Me and him were the only guys up there, the rest were his 4 daughters, all their friends, and my girlfriend.) Surpringly he said no at the request of one of his daughters since her girlfriend (they're lesbians) is super liberal and anti-gun. I was fine with that since it's his property and his call. But I got a chance to have a non-fired up, non-violent, non-angry argument with her, which is rare since most anti's bring in too much emotion and fail to use any reasoning or logic and at that point I usually just stop. It was actually an intelligent conversation, I let her bring up any arguments against owning guns or for promoting gun control and I ran through my counter-arguments and provided lots of logic and reasoning behind why I believe what i believe. The end result was she pretty much agreed with me on everything and I think she was surprised we actually share a few similar beliefs (i.e. keeping the mentally disturbed from purchasing handguns, keeping guns locked up if kids are around, etc.) She said it won't be a problem in the future if I want to bring my guns up and she was interested in trying them herself.
