I know jack shit about fashion so i figured i'd come here and ask. Wednesdays at work we are able to wear 'active wear' cloths rather than the usual business casual stuff we have to wear other days. During warm months this means i wear some cargo shorts and a plain t-shirt. However, when its colder i dont know what to wear since i cant wear shorts.

Can style crew reccomend some men's long pants that would work with a plain t-shirt in the category of active wear? I think track pants are a no go, so something other than that. Jeans are also a no go. The women in the office wear nice sweat pants usually, but i dont really want to wear sweat pants to work. :o

What does your company mean by "active wear"?

When I hear active wear I think gym clothing.

"active wear" wednesday sounds like a horrible idea :ugh: ... especially the notion that sweat pants are ok, but jeans are not. what kind of office is this?

Ya, the whole sweat pants are ok but jeans arent is pretty retarded. Its a health insurance office and our previous CEO had a raging hard-on against jeans.

The idea went something like this...we are a health insurance company so we should be promoting healthy living with the employees, so lets give us a day where we dont have to wear shirt and tie and can take the stairs, walk to lunch, etc.

    Here are the "official" rules...

    Women - Approved Attire
Long shorts ("Bermuda" length, top of knee or longer)
    Capris
Plain or Company T-shirts (with sleeves, no graphics or messages)
    Sneakers, with socks

    Men - Approved Attire
    Dress Shorts (Bermuda length)
T-shirts, with sleeves (no graphics or messages)
    Sneakers, with socks

    Unacceptable Attire for Wellness Wednesdays
Short or athletic shorts (minimum length is to top of knee)
    Sports bras
    Visible undergarments
    Tank tops
Your body should not be overly exposed
    T-shirts with graphics or messages
Dirty, stained, ripped or torn apparel
    Flip flops
    Beach shoes
    Sweat pants
    Sweat suits
    Spandex
    Denim shorts and skirts
    Biker shorts
    Swimming apparel
    Skorts

The director of my department is pretty lax about them since she lets the females wear sweat pants, but jeans still wouldnt fly i dont think.

    What is this?

Go in naked and tell them you didn't see it in the list of unacceptable attire so you figured it was fair game.
