    wicked job!

and i don't want to seem like an asshole... but isn't the flag backwards? I'm pretty sure the stars go at the front of the uniform (on both sleeves), so it looks like the flag is flapping in the breeze when he runs.... (just something i picked up on Mail Call)

    Thanks everyone :)

I used a photograph from a book of military uniforms as a reference, so I assume the flag is correct :dunno:. I did this painting for a toy company I interviewed with. The job was doing package design for their line of military action figures. I didn't take it because they lowballed me on salary :squint: -- but at least now I know I can paint ;)

Did you counter offer on salary?

They initially offered $10/hour plus benefits, saying they normally start people at $8/hour :ugh:. I told them that was unacceptable for someone with a BFA and talent -- cocky, I know, but their offer was ridiculous. I asked for $14/hour, they countered with $11/hour -- I said no thanks.

It would have been an amazing job, but I just couldn't settle for that salary. I realize Iowa isn't exactly a hot-bed of culture and industry, but it's not a third world country. It's ridiculous that I make more money doing T-shirt designs. This is the parent company Alpha International

Artists get paid shit, especially just starting out. Your best bet is to get a "real" job and freelance.
