now if only it was the price of a grip + router
That's kind of epic.
no interest in the wifi part.. but the USB sounds cool to be able to back up directly to a external HD.
I could see that being useful
actually that would be pretty damn cool if you were a wedding photog, you could have a slideshow set up that constantly updates as the night goes on
Any idea what the range on it is?
i hooked my camera up to my laptop last night for the first time. holy shit, that's pretty slick, especially with live view.
i can definitely see why i need a MUCH better tripod now.
any idea how much this transmitter is gonna cost?
they were talking about how it would be nice to have one, have a laptop & router in your car, go take pics somewhere that you might risk getting your CF card taken ... all of your shots are already backed up.
I see it on EBay for 1000.
The review goes over all of that.
you could do that without a car, just stick a laptop in a back pack + ad hoc
you could do that without a backpack too. just give your laptop to a buddy across the street
it'd be fun, but i'm not spending $800 on it. i'll put it on my xmas list.
so you use the 'stock' battery in your camera ... does this have its own battery too then?
Watch the video review, chump
i don't want to.
the GPS part of it is pretty slick. i've been really interested in geotagging for a while now. however, i read somethign that said the 40D (or was it lightroom?) strips the elevation data from the raw file. that kinda sucks.
i use a Sony GPS-CS1 unit that clips to my golf bag, rear view mirror, belt loop, backpack, etc ... whenever i travel. i then use a program from Google Code to tie the gps coordinates to the raw files.
You know you want this.
I just want to see you spend money.
it would be neat, but not THAT neat.
i want a gps unit that will clip into the shoe & put coords on my files. THAT, i woudl spend $$ on.
if this was closer to $300ish I would be tempted to pick it up
see post 2
see post #17
i skim a lot
do you have one? they're quite fun, especially for ~$120.
really easy to use with GPicSync
