    ok here it goes, I have a form in access, I need to do sql statements from it, how the hell do I do it. I have a drop down menu for name, and two more for date range, I wanna be able to get how many calls a person got in a range of dates

    How many calls? How many matches? For a beginner I would suggest you make a query with the form open in normal view (ie live). Make your query (which will most likely be a group query) in design mode and use the control items in the form as your criteria. For example if your form was called CheckDate and your two date controls were called BeginDate and EndDate, in the criteria settings you would put:

    Between forms!CheckDate!BeginDate and forms!CheckDate!EndDate
