Abs? Work as a unit or some more than others?

I'm wondering about whether or not my current ab routine works them too hard. I've always been told that leg raises will work lower abs and crunches work upper... I do both, but if they both work the entire set of abs rather than one exercise focusing on one part more than the other, then I need to decrease my sets in both and add another oblique workout. Thanks in advance.

do crunches and hanging leg raises and you'll hit all of your abdominal section. But yea, raises=lower, crunches=upper.

 yeah I do hanging leg raises because I don't like laying down, doesn't feel like it works them as much. Another concern is that crunches are so light and leg raises are more difficult.. Hopefully my abs won't get bigger in the lower section and grow slower in the upper.

I like using the crunch machine, doing heavy weight while holding at the bottom, then burn out on regular crunches or the machine assisted one. Give it a try if crunches are getting too easy.

I only ever do 1 ab exercise. Weighted decline situps. It feels like they hit my lower and upper abs.
