Ive had my eye on this model for a very long time and am about to jump on it. My local dealer tells me 960 OTD w/ a set of Houges thrown in.
Is there any other Handgun I should be looking at? Full size or Compact I am not comfortable with anything smaller than Compact.
This will mostly be a range queen with use as home defense. I may carry it from time to time ut i really doubt it.
    Any and all opinions welcome.

    Ill start Cons - 960.00

Pro's - manufactured and based on Sig Sauer

Sigs are good guns but the blackwater model is overpriced IMO but if you like it thats all that matters

Why not just the P229R DAK with Sig night sights? Why the Blackwater though?
I agree with the other two that its just overpriced and doesn't give you an advantage over other variations of that model.

Yeah I see that... hmm, interesting. I was pretty sure they did. But I dunno.
Blackwater was never an option for me, in my mind, when I was looking at P229's. So maybe it is just the 226.

We're nerds... we just sit here staring at our screens while refreshing, waiting for the next post to show up so we can respond.

    So consensus is Elite>Blackwater?

Any other manufacturers that i should look at? Ive got 2 weeks to make a decision. Id like to stay in the 9mm caliber.

The new Stoeger Cougar is almost identical to the Sig P229 and is only $350.
Can get it in .40 S&W or 9x19. I highly recommend it. Only thing it doesn't have is a tac rail. Which is a lot more like the old skool style Sigs before they started adding the tac rails.

Other than that, I'd look HKs, Walter P99, Glocks if you can stand the looks, Springy XD's.

Also how about Beretta's new Px4 Storm and Ninety-Two. They look pretty bad ass and Beretta is pretty well known for reliability. All great in 9mm.
