    Westcott 45" removable cover umbrella

    Adorama swivel bracket

This will go with an sb-600 so nothing too heavy... hows this for a low cost setup? will 7' be tall enough or do you find yourself going higher than that often???

I know it is only for an SB600, but I'd still get an air cushioned stand. $38.95 for a 9.5' heavy duty one on bh.

looks legit to me for beginners, a little on the flimsy side.
I'd suggest getting some ankle weights at a local sports store, great for keeping the light stand planted!

    Exact same setup I have.

It is flimsy but since I only really use it indoors I do not care that much.

However, lightweight so easy to move and it holds the SB600 fine and a SB900 requires a different adapter.

However, I found out that the stand that comes with the flash that you can use to stand it on a table fits in the swivel stand perfectly so I just use that. This way I know it locks into the stand versus that little metal bracket that scares me.

As far as the size it is big enough. I cannot extend it fully with the umbrella without hitting the ceiling.
