I've decided on D50 for my first dSLR. Now i have couple questions, what memory cards can i use? and what kind of lense should i use (i am getting body only deal) for shooting just about everything, from portraits to city streets, just not too many landscapes, for around $100-150, maybe $200. And should i get all the stuff after christmas, are there any good sales or deals after? Thank you.

the d50 uses SD cards and i would suggest getting the d70 kit lens (18-70mm)

I have a D50. Sometimes the 18-55 doesn't seem like enough. I got mine off ebay where you can always find a good deal if you search hard enough.

    .

I have the D70s and it feels so much better than my ex's D50. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra.

Nikon suggests SD cards from Sandisk,Lexar,Toshiba and Panasonic. I have never had a prob with my Sandisk. I have had problems with other brands though.

I got the D50 over the D70s because the sensor is better.
As far as "feeling" better, I got a deal with a battery grip included. It makes a big difference.

d70 plus 18-70 kit lens. you won't find a good lens in the 150-200 price range except the 50mm f/1.8.

they usually run around $100 but his budget's max is 200. the only lens I know of that is decent quality that falls within that range is the 50mm

If you need lenses, i'm selling 2 of mine. 18-70 Nikkor DX and an old school 70-210mm 4.5-5.6 push-pull. Let me know if you're intersted and I'll send pics.
