so, what do i need to be able to fill in the blanks on a .pdf file?
The lastest version of Reader allows you to do that, IIRC.
Also the PDF author needs to save it correctly. The f*cking US Passport application PDF is a PDF form but was saved with the form locked so you can't fill it out!
I have 7.0
Do i have to pay for anything extra since it was a free dl from adobe?
If the file has the fields left open, you're good. Otherwise, you'd have to use Acrobat to edit the files. Buying a full Acrobat version to fill out forms makes it a bit costly.
yeah i dont wanna buy the whole program.....is there any other way?
Print it, fill in the blanks, then scan it.
There are some PDF editors out there that you could use to open the PDF, type new text into, and save again as a PDF. If this would work, check out download.com. Nitro PDF is one of them, but there are a few out there.

Hardly. I used passware to unlock the PDF and filled it out.
