Obviously Ive had the stigma of using these machines because its labeled the chick machines. Girls literly sit on the thing with magizines and do like 20 reps . . . like 8 sets . . . no guys walk within 10 feet of the thing . .

But in hope to reach a very high raw squat I was talking to some other people and they said its great for the hip flexors . So my question is , seriously does these machines help a good amount when used with an all around good routine.

bands or cable would be better....but you probably don't need to worry about shit like that at this point...

use bands or cables then to simulate the machine...they work better because you are not restricted to one range of motion on one plane....

515 in a belt or with wraps? I'd get some knee sleeves to keep the knees warm and help prevent injury.

what'd you do to your knee? are you they guy who wrecked a quad/bike?

I'd get some real wraps...if I'm doing heavy singles or triples over 405 I wrap up....not sure why but thats what guys I train with have told me to do....if I'm doing reps I'll wear a set of sleeves...

werd had pins in my knee and my wrist from the bike injury a while back. That healed (wrist is still not 100% , but I can hold alot of weight on it ) . Last week while doing squats when I stepped back sorta stumbled with 455 , knee felt weird. Wrapped light with the cloth things . . . went did the 455 after strenching and double checking it was straight with 365 on the bar . . then went to 515 later in the night. Knee felt sore all week , last night just did rep work up to 405 to not stress it to much (no wraps though) . Feels alot better now, used some tips bdr posted on elbow care . .

waiting on jackal gym to deliver these sleeves though. I think for max's I will use the convict wraps. But im going to just concentrate on rep scheme for a while longer . . I ideally want to get to 495 x 8-9

you have a pair of convict knee wraps? I could have sworn they weren't ready yet.

the machine is alright but everything I have read states that using bands or cables in the same movement are better....

The convicts are straight nasty. They are basically Metal All Blacks. buy them.

I do abductor work twice a week with a miniband. Sets of 12-20

Yeah the convicts rule, used them yesterday and they kick ass.

I only dl like every 3 weeks, I do other stuff for lower back . . .

When I do dl i try to just keep up volume . . 365 for a few sets , maybe 405 on the last set for 4-5.

Last week I attempted max's , 455x2, 515x1 , way to much chest pressure . . . i didn't attempt to go higher. Just a belt . I know its low, but its all I got in me now. . this was after my knee problems though so not sure if that held me back.

This is wrong in 99% of cases.

It's always interesting how you do seem to know everything GuOD or always have a sarcastic training comment when you are a pretty inexperienced lifter.

    But that's another subject..

I listen to those who know whats up. I don't give advice on here because simply I don't think I know enough as the experienced on here. Im no 1k squater, im no 800 lb dl until that point Il just keep my mouth shut and wait for advice for those in the know . . . . im progressing pretty well atleast.
