I shot in raw and I HDRed the clouds back in. I tried to make the HDR seem somewhat subtle, but I wasn't going for realizm.

I like the composition, but its too much post processing for my tastes

i think if you woulda used the yellow caution/police tape more in the shot it woulda been better. Like maybe stick it/tie it somewhere in focus.

That way it looks more like the fire/gun fight and then the picture has some kinda meaning.

the abandonment isn't felt in the image. i can't tell if it's really an abandoned car, or just a beat up one. the only clue i get is the caution tape; more context would be helpful, but only if it supports the mood of abandonment.

i think the cropping is a bit too tight around the car. i would have included more of the ground beneath the car, the shadows there might help the idea, especially against a greater sense of space and texture in the clouds and sky. i applaud the hdr effort, i've never done one before, but i don't get the sense of distance (abandonment) between the car itself and the surroundings and it might be because the car is too bright.

I like it for the most part...it does feel a bit claustrophobic and I would have like to have seen something else going on in the scene

The car was about 6 feet away from a warehouse that they were building. It wasn't desolate like the picture might suggest.

Also, is it blantantly obvious that it is HDR? I was just trying to bring out detail through HDR, not really make it cartoonish.

The building in the back is blown out, and then all the sudden the sky shows exposure.. It brings my attention back to the building every time.

    Agree 100%.

The background is also distracting because the building is blown out, yet the sky has detail. Doesn't look right.

Its alright. Just lacking a interesting subject matter. To each their own in this situation though.
