I bought a bunch of Powerex batteries a few years ago, and they've finally decided to stop holding a charge.

should i buy more Powerex batteries for my flash, or should i stick with Duracell (non-rechargables)?

how long should i expect the new rechargables to last?

anything better than Powerex that I should look into?

They don't lose charge when not in use. At least not any charge worth talking about.

So you can charge them and leave them in your camera bag for a year, and they'll still be ready to go when you need them. They can also sit in your flash for weeks and always be ready to go.

I had mine in my flash for 6 months without needing to be recharged. This includes using the flash at least one a week, for 10 or so shots per week.

The camera had to be recharged at least once, probably twice a month during this time, and I use the flash on the camera whenever I shoot.

I just about forgot the flash had batteries in it.

    interesting.

can i use my Maha Powerex charger for them, or do they require some special charger? I'll go pick up 8 of 'em and try them out

Any charger. I bought the 8 pack and use two random chargers I had from old batteries... A Sony and an Energizer, if I remember right...

How many batteries does it take to run your flash? If it's more than 4 I would go with rechargeable ones. but that's just my opinion. :)
