a small change in technique for big improvement - overhead lifting

    I've been working on my flexibility through the shoulders/back/hips with the goal of being able to do some nice overhead squats :x:

    I noticed this has helped me get my head and chest through the lift when I'm doing my push presses/cleans/snatches ... a nice benefit :bigok: ... tonight the push press was flying up after I got my head through and I've noticed I feel more stable at the finish of my jerks/snatches

    shoulder flexibility = increased weight on overhead activity :wavey:

    working on your flexibility couldn't hurt :dunno:

    I use a wood bar while warming up and work through the overhead squat motion with it as far as I can... first starting in a full squat and trying to raise the bar overhead, then starting standing with the bar overhead and squating down as far as I can while maintaining form

    yeah military presses feel so goddamn good when you do them properly and get your body under the bar. Easily my favorite upper body exercise aside from pullups.

    together with post #3, I'm doing various shoulder stretches .. but most of it is trying to hold the bar as far back behind my head as i can

    Just doing hand stands, holding for 30 sec and also doing hand stand pushups. Your ass would find it easy. I haven't touched much weight in a quite some time.
