if she's 6...
Meh, they're holding the photo to normal professional OT standards. If you look at it as a snapshot, it's great.
how is that "not bad"?
i think its good snap shot
it's a good shot no matter what you want to hold it at. with some cleaning up (using the edited version), I could definitely see something like this being used as a stock image.
you think its good because theres a nice ratio between the lit side and the dark side of his face, shallow dof, and a nice pose. can she repeat what she did to get a similar shot? It seems that the first few hundred pictures from an slr in the hands of a new user always seem awesome and I mainly blame the dof differences (as opposed to p&s)
its likely she didn't think about the lighting which means that this shot was basically pure luck....o yea, its a little dark
it looks good, but its kind of a hard picture to screw up as long as you can hold a camera still
I probably should have said that rather than just "bad"
But I'm an OTer, there is no middle ground.
i've been watching your critique threads for a while and i've even offered help, but so far all of your photography has been amateurish at best and i'm being kind
i'm starting to get the feeling your either you're taking the piss or you're not very good and never will be
