I finally ordered an '09 E92 M3. The dealers are trying hard to push the DCT, in fact it's all they had on the lot. Fully loaded with every option and DCT. I did drive one of the DCT equipped ones, and it is loads better than my E46 SMG, but still has its issues. Rather than settle and deal with the apparent lag issues plaguing the DCT (much like my E46 had), I bit the bullet and ordered one to my specs. The wait is just fucking horrible.:hs:

What is DCT. The new M3 is a good look car so congrats on that. If I owned that car it would just have cat's and glasspack mufflers. I bet with that combo it would have that high pitched, high revving Ferrari sound.

I'm assuming its one of those automatic shiftable transmissions. I dont blame you, I would wait for a manual setup. A local guy has one and it is sick as hell.

DCT is the dual-clutch transmission. It has gotten rave reviews and from my own experience driving one it's damn nice. Only issue it it has some serious lag during regular driving. Enough lag to present a problem. BMW keeps sending updates of the transmission software but the fix is still elusive.
Glasspacks?:ugh: I'm probably getting an Akrapovic system for it.

Yep, went with an M6 as the car is my bitch, not vice versa.:mamoru:

I mean you can pay tons more for a fancy name but its still just a muffler setup made by non-BMW engineers! I would retain stock tubing and just run glasspacks to get the fast revving sound. Flowmasters would give it too much of a muscle sound, glasspacks would give it the Ferrari fast revving sound.

Haha don't take it too far! I am serious about some clean stainless steel glasspacks...you will one day understand what I mean but until then just enjoy the 4.0 BMW V8 which is going to sound amazing.

To be honest, it sounds pretty decent stock. I've gone through so many sound clips of exhaust, it's still a tough choice.

8 weeks for a car ain't shit. I've waited 9 weeks for a custom-made flashlight, and I've still got probably another week or two to go.

    8 dollar flashlight vs. a 70k M3?

You're so right, the suspense would be killing me, also.

:mamoru: Bro, it's a CUSTOM flashlight. It probably goes KLIK-KLAK instead of KLIK-KLIK when he pushes the ON button.

Car should be here this week, finally. Dealer is expecting a July 1st ship date from the prep center and a 1 day transport. I am fucking excited.

Car was released 7-1 but the transport fags are taking forever to put i ton a truck. Dealer anticipates Monday/Tuesday as the arrival date.
Oddly, the car is showing up on their website which even if a car is pre-sold they don't show up until the car is actually in stock. Guess someone is having fun this weekend in my car. :wtc:
