there's this one guy i work with that stands about 5'1" or 5'2" weighs in at 175. This guys is yoked! But, he knows nothing about diet/nutrition. How can somebody get that big without taking any forms of supplements? He doesnt even know that he was supposed to be taking certain amounts of proteins/carbs/fats per day. He doesnt even know that he needs to be at a certain caloric level to maintain/gain/lose weight. Is it genetics? steriods? the whole 1 or 2 years we've been working together, I've always thought he knew a lot about it, but we just recently talked about weight training/dieting and whatnot and he knows nothing about the proper nutrition part. :dunno:

It lends credence to how unimportant supplements really are. In the grand scheme of things, it's just not that big of a deal. People think that if they don't get their protein in at precisely the right time they basically wasted their workout and it just ain't so.

I use and like supplements, but would keep getting PR's with or without them. They certainly are convenient, and I'm willing to pay for that convenience and the slight (but noticeable) performance increase.

Many people would do well to put more effort into finding a better gym/training parter. That's one of the best "supplements".

He probably trains really hard and has been for a long time, and he could also just be bs'ing you to avoid fitness/nutrition talk with others...I'll play dumb about that a lot with people

Kinda like when people think you're on supplements and cycle a bunch of random ass things, and you tell them it's just straight up chicken.

    Something along those lines.

You don't need to supplement to make gains. The important part is having a proper diet and eating enough.

I doubt he was bs'ing me, he was asking me all kinds questions regarding what he should eat/dont eat, pre and post work out, etc...even thought I didnt know much myself I told him what I knew. I couldnt believe it. Maybe others are right though, I didnt ask him how long he's been training for. He is black though, if that matters.

Well this is the thing, he doesnt even know he needs x amount of proteins, etc. And the guy hardly eats, if at all. I usually see him in the lunch room with chips, soda/gatorade, bologne sandwich.

Still, huge isn't a word I'd use to describe someone that's 100lbs lighter than me, though I'm sure he could appear quite muscular.
