My 40d is too much to carry around for family trips.

She really likes the idea of the Canon PowerShot D10. Waterproof.
    Anyone have one?

Or any other ones we should look at?

A friend of mine just got the new waterproof Lumix DMC-TS1. I think it costs more than the Powershot, though. It is better shaped for carrying around (the D10 is a huge bulbous thing, whereas the Lumix is quite sleek).

Neither one will take pictures as nice as an SD960 or the much cheaper SX110 IS, but those aren't waterproof and bash-resistant. So you'll need to decide which of the above traits is more important. I have taken my SD- and A-series Powershots all over creation and never broke any, though. They are not especially fragile, but if you've broken cameras or phones before doing whatever you plan to do with this thing, then it might be worth it to you.
