Ok, so I'm seriously debating joining the NAVY...but first I have a few general questions to ask...I don't wanna talk to a recruiter yet cause i know theyll lie out their ass to get me to join...I think i want to join as an officer...but im not sure what is required for that...I guess i will just start from the beginning...OK so i go to basic training for 8 weeks in Great Lakes Illinois...
1.What does a day in BT consist of?
2.What does the NAVY require regarding hair?
3.After my 8 weeks of BT, will i go directly to officer school?
    4.How long is officer school?
    5.Where is officer school?
6.What does officer school consist of?
7.After finishing officer school, where will i go?
I would like to be a pilot or possibly something in the nuclear field so...
8.What are the requirements to be a pilot?
9.What are the requirements to be in the nuclear field?
Any help with these questions would be great...thanks guys

Does your university or any surrounding ones have an ROTC program?

Have you ever considered joining ROTC and commissioning when you graduate? You wouldn't have to go through bootcamp.

You don't think that being in ROTC will provide you a challenge and offer you the opportunity to improve your physical condition?

Well yes and no...bootcamp seems to be a little tougher and the time span is also alot shorter than going to ROTC(isnt it???)...but i do agree that ROTC would be a challenge...

good luck with that, you will have to volunteer for dive challenge in bootcamp to get anything close to a good workout a couple times a week...most of the rest of the time the only excercise you will get is being beat (if you even get that much at all anymore) and that isnt a great workout...

your best chance getting into shape is now while youre in college, ROTC wont involve you too much with working out either so, its up to you if you want to be in 'great phys condition'

also, if you do skip the ROTC thing and get a chance to be commisioned after visiting the recruiter/meps blah blah, you will not go to great lakes for basic, you will go straight to OCS for something like 14 weeks (not sure) and be commisioned afterwards

I didn't realize the navy was different than the army in this aspect.

Apparently the Army and Navy differ, and so I really can't answer that question. I know about Army ROTC, not Navy ROTC. Disregard my earlier comments about bootcamp, apparently in the Navy you don't have to attend bootcamp before going to OCS.

have a college degree and be selected by a board (i belive thats how the Navy does it) and go to there version of officer training. Army and Marines are the only ones who make you go through boot then to officer training i belive

For some reason you dont sound like someone who would strike me as having been through college already, you sound like your just out of High school. You seem to have no idea what you want. Pilot or Nuclear.....could you pick to things further apart.
