    1. What are they currently?
    2. Have they changed since you first started training? What were they originally?
    3. How long have you been training?

    For myself:
    1. In terms of strength/ performance...
    a) perform 6 single arm pullups (built up to 4 before tendonitis sidetracked me)
    b) perform 10 single arm single leg pushups (not too far off)
    c) do single arm handstand 9far, far, far off)
    and in bodybuilding terms
    a) build legs to 25" and calves to 17" while waist remains under 27".
    b) stay lean

    2. Yes they have and still constantly do so. Originally it was to be a smaller version of Serge Nubret or Frank Zane.

    3. Casuall and on/ff since 13 or 14 but been consistent for almost 7 years.

    1.
a)get down to a lower body fat while retaining muscle mass and then bulk from there. shorter term goal is to be 200 at 12-14% or so (hopefully within 6 months). longer term goal is to get as big as i can naturally with a decent bodyfat.
    b) i would also like to get stronger and more athletic.
    c) improve my calves, tris, and shoulders the most at the moment.

    2. When i first started training i was mostly concerned with fat loss. I always wanted to be more muscular, but I was at the point in my life where i was sick of being overweight. My goals are much more focused and specific now.

    3. Started training in October. The first few months were bullshit because my routine and nutrition were completely lacking.

    1. Get as strong as I can for football. After this season if I go to university for it I'll keep on a strength program, otherwise go for hypertrophy/atheletic-look.

    2. Yes. Originally I just wanted a beach body, and be in better shape than most people.

    3. Took a weight training class in september 2003, made some ok gains but wasn't eating or training right until about january 2005.

Currently: Get to 9% bf @ 195-200lbs, and get lifts back to pre-cutting levels.

When I first started: Get as big and as strong as possible for football. Mission accomplished:
260lbs @ like 20% bf at my heaviest, about 1400lb combined for the big 3.

Started training about 2 and half years ago.

    1. What are they currently?

Get to 10% bf... and stay at 230 lbs.

    2. Have they changed since you first started training? What were they originally?

Yes. I wanted to get huge.. Got up to 250, didnt want to get any bigger, i was too big for me, IMO.

    3. How long have you been training?

Since I was 21. Im 27 now.. However, I did take a year and a half off, for personal reasons.

    1.
Short-term (next few months): finish this cut by dropping my bodyfat to a respectable level, 7-9% is my current goal, but that might change depending on how i look when i get there.

Long-term: Greatly increase my weaksauce bench squat and dead, and shoot for about 190lbs at 7-9% bodyfat. Subject to change of course.

    2. They're still essentially the same - lose fat, gain muscle. I just have numbers in mind instead of "God i need to stop being a wussy fatty."

    3. 5 years. Maybe 3 where i knew that diet was important, less than a year where i've been able to make myself stick to a proper diet.

    1. To be able to Bench 400 in < 1 second Squat 600 in < 1 second and to Snatch 400

in general just to be as good a fighter as I possibly can

    2. Yes many times, usually through injury and re-evaluation. I started lifting for football and my goal was to bench 225 and clean 275.

    3. About 8 to 9 years

    1. Bench 280, dead over 400, squat over 300 by time I'm done bulking. Get my arms up to at least 16s. Dunno what weight that will put me at, but I'm guessing around 230-240.
    2. Yes
    3. Started in April of 04, if you factor in when I hurt my back and took some months off, just a little over a year, like 13,14 months

    1) To be pound for pound a beastly grappler, improve my boxing so that I am able to throw bombs accurately.

    2) At first I was a really really skinny kid that got picked on, so it was to never again be a scrub, now the goal has changed a little.

    3) Since freshman year of high school, so around 6 years.

i've been training figure 4 years, with 2.5 years of that time dedicated & injury free.

my short term goal is to be class 2 pl in the 148lb class, & to lift enough to class usapl. it's only 20lbs more if i stay where i am now. but realistlcy i'll need to gain a bit to maintain the strength for it.
technicly, i'm already out benching the current NY state usapl record holder. but my overall isin't enough to qualify.

When I tore all the intercostals on my left side playing arena ball. I had to take almost a year off from training...had no desire to go back to football. So I decided to fight and it took a lot of work just to get back to where I could train. I'd say I have been training 15-20 hours a week for about 9 months now.

I've been training for almost 2 years, was real serious for about 9 months, 4 months ago... now I'm getting back into that shape again after recovering from a torn acl.

My goals have always been the same : Get as big as possible and as strong as possible.

I've realized that I really don't ever want to be much bigger than 205/210 leaned out. When in discomfort, I can already feel the added mass slowing me down. I figure some cardio work will help with that though.

boxing as a kid and I wrestled all through high school. So effectively no....but truthfully traditional martial arts experience doesn't help much in mma. Athletic ability is as good a background as any.

Wrestling through high school IMO counts as MA experience though as you specified not traditional MA.
