I like 5 and 8, but the nose shadow on 5 is bugging me. :dunno:

Hmm I thought 5 was one of my weaker ones, what are the reasons that makes it one of my best?

5 is my favorite...I like the blown out background.. also its a classic, clean look, well composed and very well done. I agree with girth about the nose shadow.. but it doesn't ruin the pic for me. I also like number 4. I didn't at first... the crooked hat was bothering me... but I got over it. Its a nice portrait.

the contrast, simplicity, and the shadows... but watch those shadows too, they can ruin those pics too. I also like the glimpse of light in his left eye. Makes it shine. :o

the nose shadow in 5 doesn't outright murder the pic, but a slightly different angle on the lighting setup would reduce that significantly, while not changing the overall composition... 4&5 ftw, as well as 8... I've got an affinity for the light sources being built into the pic.

  10. #5 could be used for a Gap / Banana Republic website welcome image...
