Wake up, go to school, to go gym, shower, get back to classes. Avoid calling the captain or doing anything to get notice. Go home.

Yea, but I'm just a cadet

    A day in my life:

    0530: wake up
    0550: leave to beat traffic
    0610: roll into work, change
    0700: FOD walkdown
0730 on: take care of any maintenance in our workload
    1200: chow (hopefully)
    1215 on: maintenance
    1630: hit the road

That's a typical day, in a very vague fashion. They're a little different sometimes, but that's mostly it. :big grin:

    Used to be

    0500 - PT
    0700 - Shower, goto Chow.
0800 - Formation in the lounge.
    0810 - Goto rooms.
    1100 - Lunch
    1300 - Formation in Lounge
    1310 - Goto rooms
    1630 - Formation in Lounge
    1631 - Get in Civis.

We're an operational based MOS so if theres no op going theres nothing for us to do so we're just on call in our rooms every day so they know where to find us when an op does come.

I'm the BEQ Manager now though, and the one before me didn't do his job AT ALL. So I've got an insane schedule trying to get my baracks perfect for the quarterly inspection coming up next month. We would have failed so bad...so bad..

My day in the life of AFSC 2A531.

Wake up at 1030 since im on swing shift. Get dressed in civies and go to the chow hall at 1100. After that I go to the gym and do pt till about 1230-1300. Then go back to my room and do anything that needs to get done or chill for a little bit. At 1500 I make my way to the Iso Hangar and hope that we dont have a C-5 in there today. Roll Call is around 1530 in front of the flight office. We all get our assignments. I work wings so depending on what stage in the iso we are on I either am depaneling, helping with inspections, lubing the wing, doing fix phase, or panel up. At 1800 we head to dinner and come back around 1930 and continue with what we were doing. 2230 rolls around and we usually turn in tools back to CTK and do clean up till 2400 unless we are working twelves which is pretty common. Then I head back to my room and chill for awhile before heading back to bed and repeating the process.

    engineering assistant...

Ill be honest though my job is up and down and it depends what shop im in
since im at work and bored ill go through various times

    newair man at eglin
    drafting and surveying shop
    wake up at 630
    work at 645
    breakfast
my boss would give me shit
    draft or go out surveying,
    lot of web surfing
bsing with co workers and the million civs i work with
    go home at 330
or gym at 2 depending on the day i actually pressed for us to get 3 days of pt a week on duty time
this was before the whole AF pt thing

in the desert its a diff story.. first time was same as above with long hours
2nd time i was a facility mgr/drafting desing/systems furniture builder guru/I can make anything happen guy tht was 6 months at like 16 hour days
    3rd i was a construction inspector

so when I was a CM at eglin
    same duty hours 645-330
I would get in late most of the time, check emails eat, surf web.. maybe go check on some jobs or have an inspection or two
i ran the paint and fence contract too so i would go out and do inspections on that
fill out paper work for it, read through statement of works and specs
    surf more
leave at 2 daily for pt

now im in england and the only 3e5x1 on base.. I do arc gis which is a huge mapping program that most civs use in the REAL world
whole af is going twoards it now and i have to get it up and running and fix a few things
most of it would be maintaining it .. but im still new at it so i have a lot of free time while i wait for shit on it to get done
