On Friday we were hauling scrap iron from a foundry. It was an area of the city that most people don't see because all the old factories are fenced off and surrounded by tracks. I think there's some decent shots, who knows...

This is the old Gunite/EMI plant. It was a staple in our local economy making castings and brake drums for over 100 years. They sold to a Japanese company (Gunite) and it was closed in 2 years. It's been closed for probably almost 10 years now, I do believe it's just a home for the homeless at this point.

This is the back side of Urick Foundry, where we were working hauling scrap iron out of storage.

This may seem pointless but not many people here have ever been on top of the Cherry St. rail bridge. Stupid, but whatever.

If I titled this I'd call it "Chosen Path". Yea it's probably dumb.

I climbed up on those big grey structures pic'd above. Some of the steps were so rusty they bent when I stepped on them, a bit of a harrowing experience :noes:

They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. If I'd have had my camera first thing in the morning when it was darker, they would've been better I think.

  5. how did you get in that place? Who's dumptruck is that? You should take it and sell it :)

Pics are alittle on the dark side.. But I guess that's what ind themed photos mostly aim for. :dunno:

    Kinda dig this one

I was working there - I drive a dump truck that looks like the one you're referring to. In fact, here is my truck, inside the building.

I think the name Chosen Path is an awsome name for the Rail Road pic. I also think the B&W was awsome.
